Cold and Flu Season Must-Haves

4-minute read

You know that feeling when you’re sitting on a plane and the person next to you starts hacking up a lung?

Or you’re in line at the grocery store and the person in front of you turns towards you and sneezes in your face?

Or you travel to visit family only to find out that 99% of them were throwing up and clogging the toilets just a few days earlier?

As much as you might want to crawl into a hole and douse yourself with hand sanitizer, there are some better options. That’s what this article is all about.

If you’re lucky enough, sometimes you know ahead of time that you’re walking into these situations. That’s the time to act sooner (before you travel or visit grandma in the memory care unit) rather than later (when you’re sleeping in the bathtub—just in case).

In that case, I like to give my immune system some extra love about a week before and a week after traveling or cold and flu season.

But other times, you’re not so lucky (see the first three terrible situations at the top of this article).

It’s bound to happen. The best thing you can do is to act quickly and start an immune support protocol as soon as you can.

(This is a situation where the Boy Scout motto, “Always be prepared,” comes in mighty handy.)

Either way, I created a supplement protocol with the exact supplements I use to help my immune system. These 5 supplements are the ones I take throughout cold and flu season or when traveling.

Just in case.

Now, let me be really clear here. All the supplements in the world won’t protect you 100%. Nothing will. And the BEST supplement protocol is one that is customized exactly to what you need.

But, you can use this protocol to help support your immune system so it has the best chance of fighting off those nasty bugs and other germs that try to wreak havoc on date night or your trip to the beach.

By giving the body vitamins, minerals, and herbs that are known to support the immune system, your body will be able to take what she needs more of and get rid of what she doesn’t. That’s the beauty of these particular supplements. They’re more like food than “drugs”.

Here’s a link to order the entire protocol or simply select the ones you want.

It’s through my virtual dispensary so you’ll need to set up a totally FREE account. It’s well worth the 6 seconds it will take to set it up because you’ll get 15% off ALL supplements through that link—forever! My gift to you!

Here’s what’s in my Cold and Flu Protocol:

Immune Rapid Defense Gummies

These taste like ginger-flavored candy. Seriously. They are used to support immune function to help you feel your best and bounce back quickly. The magic ingredient? Bee propolis supports the immune system. Other ingredients include organic ginger and organic echinacea…the dream team.

Vitamin D Supreme

I love this supplement because it contains both vitamin D and vitamins K1 and K2 to help with absorption. Vitamins D and K work as a team. You need them both to benefit many functions of the body including optimal bone, heart, and, of course, immune health.

Black Seed Oil

This magical herb hails from ancient Ayurvedic (Indian) medicine. They’ve been using it forever and it’s said to be magical because it helps with almost every health condition from gut issues, to blood pressure control, inflammation, and immune support. I love it for its support of the respiratory system. It’ll help your lungs feel like gold!

Zinc Supreme

This might be the most obvious choice for supporting the immune system. For good reason! The chelated form of zinc within this formula makes it optimal for absorption. Fun fact, your gut microbes are HUGE absorbers of zinc. This supplement should be in everyone’s cupboard, especially those with gut issues!

N-Acetyl-LCysteine (NAC for short)

NAC is an amino acid that is a precursor to glutathione, the body’s most powerful antioxidant. It supports optimal liver detoxification, lung health, antioxidant status, and muscle recovery. NAC also helps protect against heavy metal exposure. NAC is especially important if you take NSAIDs (ibuprofen or acetaminophen). NSAIDs deplete your stores of glutathione. When you’re not feeling great, most people reach for NSAIDs and they unknowingly deplete their body’s most powerful antioxidant.
